How to choose Anti-UV PCAP touch screen or common touch screen?
May 5, 2025
As a PCAP touch screen manufacturing factory with 15 years of experience, many customers have questions when purchasing our touch screens: "My equipment is mainly used indoors, do I need UV resistant treatment? ”Or "Will Anti-UV touch screens be more expensive? Is it worth investing in? ”In fact, there are differences between Anti-UV PCAP touch screen and ordinary touch screens. So, how should we choose which solution?
1. Different applicable environments
Ordinary touch screen: suitable for indoor environments such as household appliances, office equipment, medical instruments, etc., with minimal UV impact and no need for additional protection.
Anti-UV PCAP touch screen: designed specifically for outdoor or strong light environments, such as self-service vending machines, outdoor advertising machines, car displays, etc., it can effectively prevent yellowing, fogging, and touch failure caused by ultraviolet rays.
2. Cost difference
Anti-UV Surface treatment does indeed increase production costs to some extent, but considering that outdoor equipment requires screen replacement, maintenance downtime, etc., it will incur maintenance costs. Therefore, in the long run, Anti-UV touch screens are actually more economical. For example, a customer used a regular touch screen on an outdoor POS machine, but had to replace it after two years due to the screen turning yellow, while the device with an Anti-UV screen could still function normally after five years.
3. Performance comparison
In addition to Anti-UV, Anti-UV PCAP touch screen typically have stronger features such as scratch resistance, fingerprint resistance, and glare resistance. For example, our anti UV series products use AG (anti glare)+AR (anti reflection) composite coating, which can maintain clarity and readability even under direct sunlight.
So, how do you determine if your project requires a Anti-UV PCAP touch screen?
If the device may be exposed to sunlight (even if only partially), it is recommended to choose a Anti-UV model.
If the budget allows and the equipment needs to operate stably for a long time, Anti-UV treatment can significantly reduce maintenance costs in the later stage.
