What is the anti-UV surface treatment of touch screen panel?
May 5, 2025
Touch screen devices used outdoors, such as self-service terminals, industrial control panels, car displays, etc., often face a common enemy: ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Long term exposure to sunlight can easily cause surface fogging, yellowing, and even functional failure of ordinary touch screen panels. However, touch screens with anti UV surface treatment technology can effectively avoid these problems.
The damage of ultraviolet radiation to touch screen panels mainly manifests in two aspects:
1. Decreased optical performance: UV can accelerate the oxidation of the coating on the screen surface, resulting in a decrease in light transmittance, yellowing or blurring of the screen, and affecting the visual effect.
2. Decreased touch sensitivity: The ITO conductive layer or OCA optical adhesive of some touch screens may deteriorate after long-term exposure to ultraviolet light, resulting in insensitive touch or drift phenomenon.
To address these issues, we adopt multi-layer anti UV hardening coating technology to form a "protective shield" on the surface of the touch screen panels. This coating not only absorbs and scatters ultraviolet rays, but also enhances surface hardness and reduces the risk of scratches. After testing, touch screens that have undergone anti UV treatment can extend their lifespan by 3-5 years in strong outdoor light environments.
Of course, anti UV treatment is not simply about coating a layer of film on the surface of touch screen panels, but requires optimizing material ratios and process parameters. Our technical team ensures UV resistance without affecting the touch experience by adjusting the coating composition and curing process. For example, in the application of car display screens, we use high transparency and UV resistant coatings, which not only ensure screen clarity but also effectively resist sunlight exposure.
If you are choosing a touch screen panel for outdoor touch screen equipment, it is recommended to prioritize models with UV resistant treatment. After all, a touch screen panel that can work stably in sunlight for a long time is the only way to truly reduce your maintenance costs.
