Why is the operating temperature of PCAP touch screen so important?

PCAP Touch screen products can be seen in various occasions in daily life. But the lifespan and durability of touch screens are closely related to the operating environment temperature. Have you encountered a situation where smartphones have slow response in the cold winter, or industrial touch screens drift in the hot summer? This is likely due to the device exceeding its' temperature comfort zone '. As a manufacturer specializing in the field of touch display for 15 years, Xinlilai Optoelectronics would like to talk to you about the key factor that affects the user experience - operating temperature.
PCAP Touch screen are like temperature sensitive artists. Conventional capacitive screens perform best between 0 ℃ and 50 ℃, just like how humans work most efficiently at room temperature of over 20 degrees. When the temperature is below -10 ℃, liquid crystal molecules become "lazy" and their response speed decreases; When the temperature exceeds 60 ℃, the conductive material may run around like ants on a hot pot, causing the touch coordinates to shift.
We have customized industrial screens that can still work normally at -30 ℃ for Nordic customers, and the secret lies in the special low-temperature liquid crystal material and heating film layer design. In the Middle East desert project, we optimized the heat dissipation structure of the driver IC and used high-temperature stable OCA optical adhesive to maintain precise touch control on the PCAP Touch screen even in a 70 ℃ environment.
We suggest that when selecting, you should not only pay attention to the general parameters, but also combine them with the actual usage scenarios. For example, the in car central control screen needs to consider both extreme situations of cold start in winter and exposure to sunlight in summer. We offer a full range of solutions from -40 ℃ to 85 ℃, just like preparing a "smart jacket suitable for all seasons" for PCAP Touch screen.
